Book Summary:(Per Author's website)
The night Quin Kincaid takes her Oath, she will become what she has trained to be her entire life. She will become a Seeker. This is her legacy, and it is an honor.
As a Seeker, Quin will fight beside her two closest companions, Shinobu and John, to protect the weak and the wronged. Together they will stand for light in a shadowy world.
And she’ll be with the boy she loves–who’s also her best friend. But the night Quin takes her Oath, everything changes.
Being a Seeker is not what she thought. Her family is not what she thought. Even the boy she loves is not who she thought. And now it’s too late to walk away.
My Thoughts:
When I first saw this book and summary I was immediately enthralled and wanted to start reading it, so I was very happy to receive a copy to review!  I have read other reviews that likened it to the Hunger Games and Divergent series, and while I can make that connection, once you start reading this book it is completely different and amazing on its own.

The action scenes are intense and well thought out, the descriptions of the locations read like a movie (and HELLO her website said that this book has already been bought so it can be made into a MOVIE!!...let's just say I already have some thoughts on who should play certain characters..)  I found myself throughout this entire book thinking how creative or I wonder what that would look like!  I mean can you imagine a huge ship that is floating around London?  Or the ability to time-travel and get lost?  Or to stretch your life(mind blown!) !!  Interestingly enough I am very excited to see how media portrays the Dreads...because their image changed in my mind each time they had a role in the book.  I also can't wait to see the weaponry.

But if you are reading this and thinking oh it is only about action/violence...WRONG!  Arwen does a fantastic job about bringing in relationships between families, friends and community.  While reading and seeing how the story is going I alternated between what I wanted to happen, who should remain in relationships, who should change, I cheered for certain hugs and laughed over certain fights or deaths and cried on other characters fates.

If you like books that make you feel, take you on a journey and yes this is a series so leave you hanging then this book is for you!  I for one know I am excited for the next book and hope that it is released quickly:)
