Book Summary (Per Goodreads)
In this powerful and uplifting novel from #1 New York Times bestselling author Debbie Macomber, a mother and her daughter-in-law bravely leave their troubled marriages and face the challenge of starting over. Leaning on each other, Nichole and Leanne discover that their inner strength and capacity for love are greater than they ever imagined.

When Nichole discovers that her husband, Jake, has been unfaithful, the illusion of her perfect life is indelibly shattered. While juggling her young son, a new job, and volunteer work, Nichole meets Rocco, who is the opposite of Jake in nearly every way. Though blunt-spoken and rough around the edges, Rocco proves to be a dedicated father and thoughtful friend. But just as their relationship begins to blossom, Jake wagers everything on winning Nichole back—including their son Owen’s happiness. Somehow, Nichole must find the courage to defy her fears and follow her heart, with far-reaching consequences for them all.

Leanne has quietly ignored her husband’s cheating for decades, but is jolted into action by the echo of Nichole’s all-too-familiar crisis. While volunteering as a teacher of English as a second language, Leanne meets Nikolai, a charming, talented baker from Ukraine. Resolved to avoid the heartache and complications of romantic entanglements, Leanne nonetheless finds it difficult to resist Nikolai’s effusive overtures—until an unexpected tragedy tests the very fabric of her commitments.

An inspiring novel of friendship, reinvention, and hope, A Girl’s Guide to Moving On affirms the ability of every woman to forge a new path, believe in love, and fearlessly find happiness.

My Thoughts
Oh the feels.  At first I wondered if I would get confused since the story covers two different women and their new paths after divorce, but I should not have worried.  This story is perfectly orchestrated to have time pass in a fluid manner where we see both women exploring, living and listening to the promises they made each other about moving on with their life.

I laughed, cried, got irritated, awww'd and more over different scenes in this book.  DM wrote a beautiful story that shows regardless of situations, background, age and past problems one can move forward and find love and true friends in life.  There were some situations in this story that broke my heart, but showed how good of a character Leanne truly is and how perfectly Nikolai is for her.  These same scenes showed how it is the tough times that show us who really is there in our lives for us.  Rocco and his daughter are actually my favorite in this whole book.  The honesty, loyalty, stubbornness, yes yes and yes! Nichole would be the most relate-able and easy to love in this story.  And Jake..oh Jake..I can't say I ever got to a place where I liked him, but that might mean he is the best written?

Overall a very quick and enjoyable book.  If you tear up or laugh out loud in emotional scenes..I would recommend not reading parts of this in public..because I definitely snort laughed at some times and cried during others:)

Here We Go

Oh wow...it has been a minute! While I have been reading, cooking and gardening away with my furbabies, especially during these crazy times, I have not been up to date on my blog.  I meant my absence to be short and to change platforms, but I could not find another platform that worked for me.  The main reason I wanted a new platform was because I wanted my website to just be my name and not have blogger or blogspot behind it... Well color me surprised when I randomly checked my blog and saw that was now an option! As of today my blog has my proper website name and I am going to start working on it again.  Thank you for those who have been checking in, emailing me and following along on other social media sites!
