Book Summary (Per Goodreads)
Khloe

When Khloe Devaro’s best friend and fiancé is lost to the war in Iraq, she’s beyond distraught. Her intentions of joining him in the afterlife are thwarted by a Cerberus Motorcycle Club member. Too young to do anything on her own, the only alternative she has now is to take Kid up on his offer to stay at the MC Clubhouse. As if that’s not a disaster waiting to happen, but anything is better than returning to the foster home she’s been forced to live in the last three years.

"Kid"

Dustin “Kid” Andrews spent four years as a Marine; training, fighting, and learning how to survive the most horrendous of conditions. He never imagined that holding a BBQ fundraiser for a local fallen soldier would end up as the catalyst that turns his world upside down. Resisting his attraction for a girl he’s not even certain is of legal age was easy, until he’s forced to intervene when her intentions become clear. All his training is wasted as far as he’s concerned since none of that will help him when it comes to Khloe.

Will the self-proclaimed man-whore sleep with a woman in every country he visits as planned, or will the beautiful, yet feisty girl living down the hall throw a wrench in his plan?

My Thoughts
We first met Kid in Kincaid and I loved him!  I was happy to see that he got his own story (though I hope and can't wait for Shadow, Blade and Snatch to get their stories!) and per usual with works by MJ I absolutely loved this story.

This story captured my interest from the get go because it picks up at an event that is mentioned in Kincaid.  There we see the love and brotherhood for veterans and community that this MC really embodies.  Kid's personality comes through immediately.  Khloe, oh Khloe, she broke my heart with her background and self-doubts, but at the same time I felt that she was extremely relateable and a fantastic character.  The dialogue between Khloe and Emma had me hooting and Khloe and Kid had me entertained through their interactions.  MJ knows how and when to throw her punches..yikes..there is a scene that just about gutted me..and I didn't know how things would improve.  Her writing is just absolutely fantastic.  Each book has the characters growing and the stories that they are living comes to life for me!

As a bonus we also see BT again and it is almost like BTS shots of his story.  I loved that part because I remember reading his story and wondering about Kid during some of those scenes and if he was alright.  Talk about a brilliant plot twist!  Didn't see that coming and again..gutted me.  I love how each story stands on its own, but that we also get to see what this MC stands for and check in on previous couples and members.  I can't wait for the next MC installment!!
