⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Dan and Kara—we first met them in the Gansett books, but here we get all the details of how they fell in love, and of course, they do not disappoint! They are strong, colorful characters on their own, but together they are funny and perfectly matched in wit and needs. Even though this isn’t technically a Gansett book, it still takes place on the island, giving us updates on all the couples and families we love. I was bawling when Grant shared his decision in the water that saved Dan’s life, felt triumphant when Dan and Grant finally got the justice Steph’s stepdad deserved, and laughed out loud at the lingerie store scenes that popped up at just the right moments. Big Mac truly felt like everyone’s dad, and this community welcomed Dan and Kara with open arms. The contrast between Kara’s siblings and those on the island was clear and entertaining.
