Book Summary (Per NetGalley)
A fate as unavoidable as love itself...
After spending the last four years trapped in a place of monsters, demons, and magick, the last thing the fierce teenage bounty hunter Greta expected was to ever be back on Earth. But a rare opportunity gives her and the Goblin King Isaac the opportunity to do just that. Now she’s home. With a boy in tow. And her parents have lots of questions.
Although Greta finally has her heart’s deepest wish—to see her family again—every step she takes to reconnect with them drives her further away from Isaac. Greta and Isaac planned for her to return to Mylena and become his queen, but she’s not sure if she can go back to that harsh world, though staying on Earth means giving up the boy she loves.
But a powerful enemy refuses to let Greta escape. A demon who will stop at nothing to destroy her and everything she loves. Even if it means following her to Earth and forcing her to face a fate as unavoidable as love itself.

My Thoughts
If you like sci-fi, long odds, sweet romance, magic and fighting then this book is for you! This is not a standalone, but it is the first I read of the series and I was sucked in immediately.  The writing style is enticing and CJ uses her vocabulary like a true artist. While this was the third book in the chronicles, it provides enough information to understand the world, the situation, the different alliances, and obstacles.

Some of the scenes were emotionally wrenching, some were hilarious and some were nail-biting (talk about some huge shows of trust!!)  Parts of the story were a bit predictable, but not in a bad way, just in a yes that is what we thought should and would happen.  I hope there is another book or spin off because I want to know what happens to Wyatt, Siona, and Dryden...especially Dryden!  I found this book to be captivating and I read it in one sitting.  I could not wait to see what happened and how this odd pairing of friends/loves would or would not work out. Lastly, this cover is just beautiful.  Through the cover I got a sense of what Mylena must look like/be like.  Wouldn't it be cool if we learned more about Dryden and got a cover of what Mylena now looks like? fingers crossed!

*CJ has a cool link on her Goodreads page that takes you to a website that presents information and graphics about all three books in the Mylena Chronicles*

Here We Go

Oh wow...it has been a minute! While I have been reading, cooking and gardening away with my furbabies, especially during these crazy times, I have not been up to date on my blog.  I meant my absence to be short and to change platforms, but I could not find another platform that worked for me.  The main reason I wanted a new platform was because I wanted my website to just be my name and not have blogger or blogspot behind it... Well color me surprised when I randomly checked my blog and saw that was now an option! As of today my blog has my proper website name and I am going to start working on it again.  Thank you for those who have been checking in, emailing me and following along on other social media sites!
